Question: How often should I clean my DLT Tape Drive?

Answer: Most DLT Tape drives have a "Use Cleaning Tape" indicator on the drive and I recommend using the light as your guide. We don't really have a good way to evaluate your environment or drive for further guidance.

If you are using a cleaning tape and the light does not go off during cleaning, the cycle has not completed and the cleaning cartridge should be replaced.
