Question: Why am I having Buffer Underrun problems recording to CD-R?

Answer: Buffer Underruns are caused by the source (hard disk, CD-ROM, etc) not supplying data fast enough to the writing device (CD-RW). There are many causes of Buffer Underruns. Let me give you a few ideas on how to prevent the problem and a couple of sources of in depth information on the subject:

Don't do anything else with the computer while recording, stop screen savers and other background type programs. Record from a disc image file rather than on-the-fly.

Defragment your HD, especially if you're doing on-the-fly recording.

Check with your CD-RW drive and burning software manufacturer for specific issues related to your environment.
