Woodland Park, NJ – August 2011 – Maxell Corporation of America introduces the maxdata tank quad 3.5-inch external desktop hard disk drive (HDD) with quad interface that has been specifically designed to address the storage and archiving requirements of corporate environments. With 1TB and 2TB capacities available, the maxdata HDDs provide CIO, IT, and other corporate data professionals with the capacity, durability, and overall performance necessary to easily and cost-efficiently archive and back-up records, files, and other valuable data.

The maxdata drives support USB 2.0, eSATA, Firewire 400, and Firewire 800, and have a hot plug and play function for simple connection. Both drives will spin at 7,200 RPM and have up to 16MB of cache. The drives support Windows 2000 and above, as well as MAC 9.0+ and OS X.

Specifically designed for professional environments, the maxdata HDDs have a durable aluminum housing and feature excellent shock resistance. The drives also have a wide temperature range of -20° C to 60° C, which meets automotive and industrial standards, and are RoHS compliant, making them environmentally friendly. Measuring 5.61 x 1.38 x 8.52 (inches), the maxdata HDDs can be positioned vertically or horizontally, so they can fit into tight configurations.

Pricing for the maxdata HDDs is $212.78 for 1TB and $326.50 for 2TB. They are available for immediate delivery.
